Euphoria is a 90's inspired show set in California
The American makeup artist and film/TV makeup department head, Doniella Davy is known for her work on HBO’s epic teen drama Euphoria.
She carefully chose each character to have their own unique sense of style, and their looks are often tied together with sequins, glitter, sharp eyeliner, and colorful eyeshadow. She took the modern day editorial inspired makeup as well as the 60's Twiggy era and 70's Rock Glam to create her makeup looks.
Many viewers have taken this fashion trend into their own hands and have created their own inspired looks based off of the shows aesthetic. This gets the viewers to use their creativity to create a look and connect with the program. This can become a positive outlet to demonstrate their emotions. As the show is about mental health issues, and the effects of substance abuse and seriousness of eating disorders and body Image. Establishing positive outlets and safe spaces for our Youth to Connect and Communicate with their peers is very important for the future and success of our children. Making sure to tend to their interests and needs. The wild and loud makeup style can demonstrate confidence, individuality and uniqueness. The main message of Euphoria is an "over indulgence" of one or more things that can have a negative affect on the mind and body that can cause long term damage with friendships, family and within ones self. Being aware of your surroundings and the people you associate with. Each character has a unique sense of style and a specific role to play, and their looks are often topped with sequins, glitter, sharp eyeliner, and colorful eyeshadow. This allows the character to stand out throughout the series and each look may capture your attention in a distinct way.
Isly Silva from Inner Beauty has taken it upon herself to keep up with the latest trend and create her own signature Euphoria Look.
She says, "This look is best suited as an evening look or an editorial fashion show."
This takes a warm feel to it by using rustic orange tones. Ms. Silva continues, "just because there are rhinestones doesn't mean its all glits and glam. " Ms. Silva says, " Black is a color of sobriety, piety, self-sacrifice and higher purpose. " Those are not things that are easy to accomplish. In the show she believes that is what the teens are fighting for or fighting against.. She thinks that's what we're all fighting for, a sense of purpose and belonging within ones self. ... "Living in Toronto has taught me a lot" she says " It has shown me the good and the bad and what happens when the bad outweighs the good. Finding a happy balance is everyone's goal. Inner Beauty's goal is to educate the youth of positive strategies and outlets that can set good habits and pattern so the good can outweigh the bad. It is very important to maintain a positive internal dialogue. The saying you're your worst enemy and best friend. Practicing positive self talk is very important in this social media driven world... With expectations that seem unobtainable to a young adolescent mind.

This inspired look is made up of small details that come together to create this masterpiece. Black rhinestones are used to create an arch or cut crease as well with a sharp liner and orange colourful shadow accompanied by dramatic individual lashes to finish off the look.
Staged in a yellow/green lighting to create a vintage/retro look to maintain the desired theme goal.
